Lorenzo Sarubbi is a very unique artist from Florence, Italy. From a very young age he gathered 17th and 18th century documents, and maps and he put magnificent water colors on these, depicting sea life, fruits, animals and objects.
Les Maitres de l’Affiche "Masters of the Poster" refers to 256 color lithographs used to create an art publication during the Belle Epoque in Paris, France. The collection, reproduced from the original works of ninety-seven artists in a smaller 11 x 15 inch format, was put together by Jules Cheret, the father of poster art.

Announcing another first from Sarasota's own Stakenborg-Greenberg Fine Art:
An exhibition of more than 20 etchings and drypoints of the greatest artistic master of all time - Rembrandt! Rarely has such a number of Rembrandts of this quality been assembled for public review. Learn why Rembrandt has mesmerized the world and stimulated collectors for nearly 400 years. Stop by the gallery where a well-priced Rembrandt is always within reach.
Among the etchings on display are examples of all the master's genres: Portraits, Biblical Scenes and Landscapes. Rembrandt began to etch at an early age, "The Flight into Egypt, a Sketch" dates from 1629 when he was only 23. His skill grew during his Amsterdam years and soon he was more famous for his graphic output than even for his paintings.
Often the master would make changes in his etching plates (states) and some had as many as 10 states. Some of these variants will be on view at this show. An example is: "Landscape with Trees, Farm Buildings and a Tower" which became most desired in the 4th state, where the artist chopped off the steeple of the church.
In conjunction with the beautiful 17th century Rembrandt works we are showing "Futurism: Modernistic drawings and water colors from the avant-garde movement founded in Italy in 1909, Russian artists started their own futurist movement shortly thereafter and we display artworks from both schools. Artist like Sironi, Chirico, Fiore, della Sita, Larianov, Vatagin, Archipenko, Suetin and more.
Join us for an opening reception on Friday, January 19 from 5:00 to 10:00 PM. Wine and hors d'oeuvres will be served.
